Bill Holmes of Malibu, CA. and Sean Gallagher of Santa Ana, CA. take the Overall win in their 2011 Ford Raptor at the 2011 Seed 9 Rally November 5,2011 in Jean, NV. This was the first event with the new Ford Raptor Rally Truck.
The team of Holmes/Gallagher won every stage of the event on the fast and winding roads of the Nevada desert that made up the event, Bill said, at the service break, the truck is perfectly suited for these fast roads and I felt right at home when I came into the first turn.
The story of the event was the 500+ Horsepower V-8 battle between Holmes/Gallagher and Jim Morris /Steve Palmieri. Every stage was won by only a few seconds throughout the day and night, with victory secured only after the final special stage.
This was the last event of the 2011 California Rally Series Championship. The team ended the year with two overall wins in the hotly contested championship. The action will resume in February 2012.
